About Us
Riverside County Regional Medical Center,
first established in 1893, is a 359 bed acute
care hospital operated by the County of
Riverside. The hospital provides all the major
specialty and subspecialty services in a variety
of in-patient and out-patient settings. As a
county facility we treat more than 70% of the
indigent population of Riverside County. We
are a Level II trauma center, with greater than
60,000 Emergency Department visits per year.
We maintain a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit,
Neurosurgical Intensive Care and Orthopedic
Nursing Units, and a regional dialysis center.
We treat high risk obstetrical patients as well
as pediatric, medical and surgical intensive
care emergencies, and we operate over 60
specialty and subspecialty outpatient clinics. In
April of 1997 a brand new county hospital in
nearby Moreno Valley was open, replacing our
current facility. This is a state-of-the-art 364
bed, $180 million facility which will continue to
serve the people of Riverside County. Its
centralized location will assure easier access
to the people of California’s second - largest
geographical county.
